When speaking about the differences between the commonly accepted religious practices of our current world, and a more personal religion, Thomas Moore says, in his book A Religion of One’s Own: A Guide to Creating a Personal Spirituality in a Secular World…
“One of the main differences in the new personal religion is going deep rather than being right. This means studying your tradition or others that attract you and following them in your own way sincerely and wholeheartedly. The point is not to join the right group, but to find the right resources that take you deep into your search and give you penetrating insights.”
This is the premise of Church. This is a non-denominational, non-traditional, gathering of folks who desire some spiritual discussion and soul nourishment. Whoever shows up, shows up. Whatever gets discussed gets discussed. That is the magic and wisdom of Church. And I DO believe in the magic and wisdom of the collective consciousness that brings each attendee.
It is in place as an opportunity to discuss, share, learn, expand and become more connected to your own set of practices. ALL ARE WELCOME. Each service will be different but loosely structured with the intention of providing thought provoking discussion, safe introspection and joyful connection to ourselves and others. There is no requirement for attending although Love Donations are accepted to support the physical world costs of holding the space.
Merriam-Webster defines “church” as a public worship of the divine. There is no specificity of what should be considered divine or how one should worship. I believe we are all divine and we all have the capacity and responsibility to elevate the universal vibration to one of love and forgiveness. That is my discipline and you are my worship.
Can’t wait to see you!
